I Met My Best Friends In Pharmacy School

ZborovancikQuestion: What’s been a benefit of pharmacy school you didn’t necessarily expect?

Kesley Zborovancik: Many people often say that you will make lifelong friendships in college. I could not agree more with this statement. I have made friendships at the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy that I can guarantee will last a lifetime. As a matter of fact, I met my best friends in pharmacy school.

I suppose it is unique to be able to say that my best friends all are future pharmacists. I met many of my friends during my pre-professional years, but found that it was the professional phase that brought us all together. In the past few years, my friends and I have become closer as we have spent countless hours together inside and outside of the classroom. The friendships that I have made in pharmacy school are invaluable. These people act not only as friends, but also as a support system. We always find a way to make each other laugh, even when we are stressed about the many exams we face.

I found that it has been very beneficial to have my friends in pharmacy school with me as they understand the workload and demand of the program. We also cheer each other on as we are beginning to pursue careers within the different areas of pharmacy. There is always something I can learn from my friends-some of us are excellent note takers, while some of us are skilled problem solvers, or have outstanding time-management skills. Not only have I received an excellent pharmacy education in the past five years, but I also have gained lifelong friendships.
