Lucca & Pisa
On our way to La Spezia, we made pit stops in the towns of Lucca and Pisa. Lucca is a Tuscan town that looks like it has not changed at all since the Renaissance. We got lost wandering through the backstreets because we wanted to stop and take tons of pictures in this beautiful town.
Our next stop was Pisa, where the Leaning Tower is located. It was really weird because the Leaning Tower is basically sitting on its own. There really is not anything surrounding it. After taking a million tourist pictures, we set off for La Spezia, our home for the night.
Cinque Terre is a string of five seaside towns on the Italian Riviera coast. This was my favorite place we visited on the trip.
We spent a few hours on the beach in the morning to start the day. It was a nice change of pace since we had been going pretty much nonstop since the beginning of the trip. The rest of the day we visited each seaside town. They were all slightly different from one another. These towns have colorful houses on the hillside and beautiful views of the ocean.
There were people jumping off cliffs in one of the towns. We didn’t have enough time to do that, so I am definitely going to have to go back to go cliff jumping in Cinque Terre. I really loved how each town was different but similar at the same time
