Hi, my name is Jack Grieb! I am from Rochester, NY, which is about a four-and-a-half drive northeast of Pittsburgh. If you are ever find yourself in upstate New York, or in Rochester particularly, make sure you do two things: first, get a garbage plate, trust me it tastes much tastier than it sounds, and stop at the beloved regional supermarket called Wegmans. Currently I work at Wegmans Pharmacy (recently ranked the No. 1 supermarket pharmacy) when I am back in New York and Giant Eagle Pharmacy while I in Pittsburgh at school.
My whole life I knew I wanted to go into the medical field. Through volunteering, guidance from family friends and working in a pharmacy during high school, I found my way to Duquesne University. Duquesne has the uniqueness of a small campus in the midst of a city. One minute you can find yourself walking to one of a multitude of science classes you will take on your path to earning your Pharm.D. and the next right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. But don’t take my word for it, come see the campus for yourself!
Make sure to stop by and visit me in my home away from home, the library, to say hello. I’m only kidding, well partially. You find ways to make time in pharmacy school for the things you are passionate about but always remember to make sure academics come first. Duquesne is a great place to fulfill any academic, professional or social goals you could ever dream of, and I am so ecstatic to have the opportunity to study here. Hope to see you on campus soon!
